Beating a Better Player - by Betsbook |
|
Beating a better player in NLHE As we know, the strength of the cards decides in the showdown which player wins or if it is a split. On the long run the chances to win in the showdown are about equal for the players at the table. So what makes some players better than the others? One must-have quality is bankroll management. With the same number of winnings, one can have a higher stack in tournaments or more cash in ring games if they properly manage their chip stack. The other must-have quality is understanding positions and the related psychology of players at short hand or full tables. This is where better players have a clear advantage over less experienced players. In most cases better players win the game before the river or the showdown as the opponent gives up playing especially so when they know they play against better players. As positions in themselves do not influence how the showdown is resolved, it is the psychological factor that determines the winner. So what to do when playing against a better player? Play tight, that is, avoid adventures and calling bets. Believe in what you are doing and believe you have not got less chance than your opponents. And, last not least, have better cards as it always helps. This way you can become a better player or at least a more profitable player. Bestbook |
