Big blind is seen by many as a dark horse in no limit texas holdem at the pre-flop stage.

BB has the last say in the first betting round with the clear advantage of knowing all moves made by other players and the ability to terrify them with a big bet or raise.

As the game unfolds, the position becomes less powerful or even more vulnerable as the advantage of knowing all the moves passes onto the player sitting at the end of the betting round.

So if you are the big blind and have cards you consider worth playing with, the right time to go ahead is the pre-flop stage (unless you want to play it slow).
